Jon Read Recieves National Service Award From PPI.
Posted by: admin / Category: Awards, News, UncategorizedOn February 3rd, 2009 Jon Read was honored by the Professional Photographers of Iowa receiving the National Service Award. Over the years Jon Read has dedicated many service hours to the PPofI and the Professional Photographers of America. It was presented at the annual winter seminar the PPofI holds in Des Moines, Iowa yearly. The Professional Photographers of America describe the award this way:
Volunteers truly are the lifeblood of PPA and its Affiliates. Every association has those extraordinary volunteers whose efforts on behalf of the Affiliate and its members deserve special recognition. Seeking a way to thank these individuals – PPA created the National Award in 1958. Each year, PPA makes this prestigious award available to state, regional, national and international affiliates – who then present it to deserving individuals. The highest honor granted by a PPA Affiliate, it recognizes those whose
support for photography goes far beyond any regular expectations or contributions. The simple inscription on this plaque reads “for service to professional photography” – but we know that this award means far more than that.
On Tuesday January 13, 2009. Adam Hunter and Brian Read, received their masters degrees from the Profesional Photographers of America. Brian and Adam were also honored to recieve national photographer of the year awards as well. The ceremony was held in Phoenix, Arizona at the convention center.
